Upholstery is the face of every model, thus the upholstery requirements at FALKE Möbel are meticulous.
Upholstery leather is purchased in Belgium from Leather Creation Belgium, a traditional partner to FALKE Möbel. Years of successful cooperation between the two companies offer an additional guarantee of high furniture quality.
FALKE Möbel uses dyed leather of 22 most popular colours and shades. Following the company’s request, the Belgium producer improved the quality of leather shipped to Kaliningrad. Now, only the softest kind of leather is used for upholstering FALKE Möbel furniture.
For the Chester models specially tanned leather is used. It comes in three colours: brown, cream and bordeaux.
For this model range, “worn-out”, slightly antiqued look of upholstery is standard. This artificial ageing effect is achieved by a specially developed chemical solution that comes to FALKE Möbel furniture factory together with the leather. After treatment the effect is made permanent by lacquering.
From the supplier the leather comes in skins piled onto pallets. In a special warehouse the skins are left to stretch on horizontal hangers to prevent creasing. Further storage presupposes maintaining certain humidity and constant temperature.
FALKE Möbel uses Luna upholstery fabric manufactured by the Italian company Novatex and supplied by a Polish distributor.
A variety of 11 kinds of fabric is offered to the customer: 7 one-colour and 4 multi-coloured ones. The quality of the fabrics is high and meets FALKE Möbel standards. These upholstery fabrics do not stretch and perfectly maintain shape even under intensive use of the furniture. Upholstery fabric is easy to maintain and can be washed while on the furniture article.
Leather, fabric and all other materials and parts are duly certified.
