| Sewing shop | FURNITURE FACTORY |
Once the material has been cut, the cuttings go to the Sewing Shop where the sewers make upholstery for the furniture.
The principles of production defined at the initial stage (at cutting), continue to be observed in the Sewing Shop. Having received a “family product” from the Cutting Shop, each sewer continues to make upholstery for every article of furniture individually.
Similarly, the “pipeline principle” of making separate faceless components is replaced here by making all the upholstery for every single product as a whole. Personal responsibility of the sewers for the final product, admittedly slowing down the production process to a minor extent, ensures an invariably high quality of FALKE Möbel furniture. Besides, the Company sewers are not narrow specialists having a practiced hand at one or two operations only, but are highly qualified professionals who take pride in being able to sew all the upholstery for a whole product.
FALKE Möbel sewers, just as the cutters, are versatile specialists and work with all models of furniture manufactured at the Factory.
The sewers’ tables are equipped with Durkopp and Brauzer sewing machines.
The Durkopp Adler machine allows to double seam and change stitch gap width, thus introducing an additional design feature to the furniture. Such sewing machines are rare in the Russian furniture industry for a number of reasons: they are quite expensive, occupy much space and are generally underused. In addition, most Russian furniture models are of inferior quality in comparison with FALKE Möbel and do not require such a stitch.
While manufacturing oak frame models, in accordance with FALKE Möbel production standards a layer of synthepon wadding is sewed to the wrong side of leather upholstery.
A FALKE Möbel label is sewn to a ready-made leather cover.
